In the current fast moving and stressful modern life, many people are becoming more and more interested in the peaceful philosophy of Buddhism and the practice of meditation in particular, to overcome daily stress and anxiety, as well as to deepen one's spiritual pursuit. One school of thought in Buddhism especially practises the recitation of mantras or chants to request for protection from devas. However, it is also important to put enough focus and effort into the learning and change within ourselves. This will serve as a means for everyone to be a better person by being able to understand Buddhism and practising it in everyday lives.
